ONE DAY ONLY Surface Design Silk Screen Magic with Melanie Robertson, March 10th 5:30-8:30
This workshop will teach you how to make your own silk screen to make multiple transfers that can be directly applied directly to both bisque ware and greenware. You will also receive instruction on how to mix your own colored slips using a porcelain base and mason stains. Students will need to bring a couple of both bisque and leather hard greenware pieces. Make sure to include a leather hard plate or platter as one of the pieces you bring. Pieces should not exceed 8″x8″
Materials provided: drawing fluid and filler for silk screen, porcelain slip, mason stains, black underglaze, fabric for screen, and packaging tape.
Materials each student must bring: 11×14” canvas (frame for silk screen, remove the canvas), 2 pint size plastic containers (one with lid), 11×14” newsprint pad, small/medium size rubber rib, small yellow sponge, needle tool, brushes (hake, and variety of smaller brushes for applying slip. TVP has a few brushes, but I recommend that you bring your own)
