Exploring The Teapot w/ Sarah Wells Rolland

6 two-hour prerecorded class sessions

Fee $400.00

The Teapot, every functional potters glorious pursuit, is a wonderful challenge of integrated design, balance and function. In this pre-recorded class, you explore all the elements of a teapot; multiple forms, pouring spouts. lids and multiple approaches to handles. This class is designed to meet you where you are, then help to push and refine your teapot making skills.

Included are inspiring slide presentation(s) where you can study design elements of wonderful teapots made by potters who have truly mastered  them. 

The pre-recorded class sessions include demonstrations, slide presentations, and assignments. 

Over the six sessions, you will cover: 

  • Throwing with excellence
  • Different kinds of spouts
  • Inset lids and overhang lids. Lids that fit well and are integrated into the design of the pot.
  • Handles from many perspectives: behind the pot, overhead, and more. Sarah will discuss balance, the hold and negative space.
  • And lastly, how does it pour?

This class is designed for the potter that wants to push into new territory and expand their skill set and it will not disappoint. Each session has an assignment. By the end of these six sessions, you will be more skilled and and on your way to making wonderful teapots.

Pre-recorded online classes are non refundable. You will have access to each class demonstration recording for one year from the date of purchase. Due to the prerecorded nature of this class/workshop, you will NOT have the opportunity to engage with the instructor as part of this purchase.
