Exploring Drinking Vessels w/ Sarah Wells Rolland
Fee: 260.00 (Recorded Video Class)
The mug is the quintessential functional pot. You can spend a lifetime mastering it.
Whether you are making a coffee cup, teacup, tumbler, pilsner or goblet, they all have so many nuances to consider. Nuances like volume, hand fit, right handed and left handed perspective, rim weight, wall thickness, negative space, solid foundations, and balance just to name a few. In this class, we will throw all the forms mentioned above and discuss all these important considerations including: Is it pretty? Is it interesting to look at? Will it be a piece that the user will fall in love with and use every day?
Each session Sarah will demonstrate multiple unique approaches to a specific drinking vessel and then that week we will all work to incorporate the techniques in our own pots. Let’s have fun exploring the drinking vessel together. and share what we make and why we love it.
This class is great for potters with skills at all levels.
