Throwing with Finesse: Part 1 with Sarah Wells Rolland (LIVE ONLINE)

4 weeks

Day/Time: Thursdays from 12-2pm (Eastern)

Dates: February 16 & 23, March 2, & 9, 2023

Fee: $300

Whether you are a professional potter, aspiring to be, or a hobbyist this class is for you.

Sarah will partner with you on a path of throwing with excellence. The deeper you understand the properties of clay and the nuances of moving clay the more adept and creative you become.

We will hone our skills and explore how a pot evolves and changes. Efficient throwing, using all the clay, balancing your pull with wheel speed, choking clay successfully, handles and attachments that are clean, balanced and accent the form. Each student will be set up to push their current skill set beyond their current level. Each week there is assignments with specific goals that will catapult your skillset. Whether you are a seasoned beginner or intermediate to advanced potter this class will be customized to your needs. We will have online discussions (critiques), share our process and struggles, and “what if” conversations about balance, shadow, line, volume, integrated design elements and more. This is always a favorite part of Sarah’s classes.

  • If the time of the class does not work with your schedule you can view the demonstrations at your convenience.
  • This class is part 1 of a 2-part series. Part 2 is a separate class/workshop that will be scheduled at a later date for registration.

This class is designed for seasoned beginner (more than 1 year experience throwing clay) to intermediate to advanced potters.

Cancellation Policy: Our online classes are non refundable. You will have each class demonstration recording for 1 full year.
