1.5  Hour Video Demonstration Workshop

Which came first, the surface design, or the form? That’s not the question we’ll be answering in this class, but in order to talk about different surface design techniques, we need to have a surface!

The first half of the pre-recorded workshop looks at various forms that originate from slabs of clay – both functional and decorative. The second half of the class will discuss various surface design techniques, including sgraffito, mishima, and direct carving into the clay for various effects with glazes.
