“Exploring The Bottle” w/ Sarah Wells Rolland
April 29th- May 20th Fridays 12- 2pm ET
Fee: 260 (includes all 4 Sessions)
Potters have been making bottles for thousands of years and even today we potters love the bottle form. My mother collected beautiful glass blown bottles so they have been imprinted in me from my earliest memories. Why do we love them?
First, the bottle is a throwing challenge. We work for wonderful forms that require choking with finesse and not all clays are friendly in this process. They have all have a function. They are containers.
In this class will explore bottle forms together, we will create cap lids for our bottles, we will explore handles and handle placement. I will include a slide presentation of bottles made by some of my favorite potters and we have lively discussions and share our creations.
Join me and let’s explore The Bottle together!
