Description

Making big pots is a dream for many potters. Making big pots with excellence and integrated design is one of a potters “big” challenges. In this class we will dedicate 5 weeks to throwing big pots. Each week we will explore a different approach from moving large volumes of clay to multiple approaches to sectional throwing, throwing with coils and more.  Then we will learn of to glaze these big pots successfully.

If you want to have some fun and push the limits of your skill set then this class is for you.

We will fire up to 5 large pots each. Cone 10 reduction firing option or cone 6 oxidation firing option.

Day/Time: Wednesdays from 1:00 – 4:00pm

Dates: March 17 – April 21, 2021

Fee: 375.00

*This fee includes glaze and firings. You will purchase your clay for this class.

Attention: You must read, understand, and be willing to abide by the safety guidelines listed below to register for this class.

DUE to COVID-19 Pandemic – Here are additional SAFETY GUIDELINES AT TVPCC: 
– If you or anyone you know has any symptoms of COVID-19 or tests positive for COVID-19 you must refrain from coming into the facility. Please notify your instructor immediately. 
– Everyone must wear a mask that is securely covering your nose, mouth, and chin at all times. This must be securely on your face prior to entering the facility. If you need to remove your mask for any reason you will need to exit the facility first.
– Must be at least 6 feet apart from any other person at all times.
– Physical contact is prohibited. 
– Refrain from touching your face. If you do, we ask that you sanitize/wash your hands immediately.
– Must sanitize hands immediately upon entering the classroom and frequently as you use shared equipment and tools. 
– Must sanitize all studio equipment and surfaces after you’ve cleaned and wiped them down. 
– All students must bring their own towels, aprons, and basic tools to class and open studio.
– You must comply with all cleaning and sanitation guidelines posted during class and open studio. 
– You are not allowed anywhere else in the studios other than the classroom.
– We’ve doubled our classroom to allow for more space between individuals. We’ve also reduced the class size to 5 students maximum.

Cancellation Policy:

  1. Cancellation up to 30 days prior to the start of class, students receive a full refund (minus a $50 administrative fee).
  2. Cancellation within 29-0 days of the start of class, students receive no refund.
