In Person Workshop: Exploring Clay using Construction, Slabs and Sculptural techniques with Sarah Wells Rolland and Karen Dubois

Five Day Week-Long Workshop

       Sarah Wells Rolland                      Karen Dubois

Sarah and Karen have been friends and have enjoyed sharing their love for pottery for years now. In this workshop they will be teaching together and it is bound to be full of wisdom and laughs. They will be sharing many of their personal approaches with clay when making pots using hand building, slab construction and sculpting techniques.

Slab construction opens the world to pots that cannot be created on the wheel. In this workshop we will make our own slump molds and templates using only clay, explore how to create wonderful additions to enhance the pots. We will also explore functional and non functional pots using techniques every potter can incorporate into their body of work. Multiple approaches to rims, foot rims, additions, feet, lidded forms and texture will all be part of our week together. Come ready to push the boundaries of what you think you can do with clay to bring new vitality to your creative process and your work!

This will be a full week of fun and exploration! We hope you can join us as we explore together!
