Description

“Pushing Pots to Another Level” Throwing, Altering, Sculpting and Darting

Five-Day Week-Long Workshop

Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm

Dates: Sept 12 – Sept 16 2022

Fee: 675.00

Sarah Wells Rolland throws soft forms with movement and exquisite lines, but often that is just the beginning of the pot. She often takes her pots from strictly functional to art. She closes pots up, darts pots, removes parts of the form, alters the shape, adds clay and more.

This workshop is designed to take your pots, the pots you throw and are drawn to, and explore together using techniques to begin to transform your pieces into something quite different, art. You don’t have to make non-functional pots to make art.

In this weeklong workshop, you will hone techniques for throwing with excellence, and then push your work in new and exciting ways. This class involves being a risk taker and fearless. You must be willing to risk and even sacrifice your wonderful pot as you explore these techniques. The rewards are grand and can lead you on a new path of creative discovery.

Demonstrations will begin every day at 9 am. Sarah will work with you individually until 3 pm. The studio will be open until 6 pm each day.

Several weeks before the workshop you will receive the details of what to bring.

Cancellation Policy:

  1. Cancellation up to 30 days prior to the start of class, students receive a full refund (minus a $50 administrative fee).
