Molly Ellender – ISM Class of 2022
“I started the ISM program after years of taking pottery classes at different studios. My goal upon entering ISM was to learn everything I needed to know to have my own studio at home. For me, pottery is a passion project and my dream is to have my own creative studio on our land to express myself. I love making quirky items to use around the house. I really enjoy that my art can also be functional in my everyday life. Over the past year, I’ve learned everything I needed to know and more to get my studio running.
The group of people in the ISM program are all very supportive and willing to work together – these collaborations opened my mind to different ways of doing things and creating. I am VERY happy with my year in ISM and am so grateful for the opportunity. I am expecting my first child at the end of the program, so I will be working to build my home studio over the next 6 months. “
