Annual Multi-Kiln Opening
Saturday May 3, 2025
We hope you’ll join us again next year for our biggest event of the year! We have hundreds of visitors that come to learn about us, our firings, our techniques and especially our finished work. The 2025 Multi-Kiln Opening Celebration will be held on Saturday, May 3 2025, and again will be a full day (10am – 4pm) of demonstrations, with a special exhibition and unique opportunity to get to know all of the resident potters of The Village Potters Clay Center and learn more about our creative process. Most demonstrations will take place in our Teaching Center, with Alternative Firing demonstrations of course happening outside (weather permitting). In our gallery, you will find hundreds of pots made just for this event that have been fired in one or more of our 13 kilns, including gas reduction, electric oxidation, all the alternative firings of raku, saggar, horse hair, and obvara, as well as our atmospheric kilns, the Kazegama, and our newest soda kiln.
We have so many kilns that are fired for this event many of them are already unloaded and the pots are ready to purchase and take home.
Our special exhibition that opens the day of our event. Each year the amazing resident ceramic artists, Lori Theriault, Julia Mann, Caroline Renee Woolard, Judi Harwood, Katie Meile Messersmith, and Sarah Wells Rolland share a thematic inspiration. This is always a wonderful exhibition. Our 2025 theme is still being explored.
Bookmark this page and stay tuned as we add our Demonstration Schedule and other information about the day’s events!
